Terms and Conditions of Kreocode
The Kreocode website provides you with all the information related to Kreocode, an annual multidisciplinary programming event. Please take note of the following terms of use which are necessary for your protection and ours.
By accessing the content of the Kreocode.ca website, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set below, and accept our privacy policy. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions or our privacy policy, please do not access or use the Kreocode website.
Visitors of Kreocode.ca, must agree not to use the website for any illegal activities, and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Visitors must agree not to use the website in any manner that could impair its performance, corrupt its content or otherwise reduce its overall functionality.

Code of Conduct
No project submitted may contain material that is abusive, vulgar, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, invasive of a person’s privacy, violates any law, intellectual property or other proprietary rights, or is known to be false.

The information on the Kreocode website is intended to be thought-provoking. It is meant to help present solutions or represent the issues of the chosen topic. It in no way is intended as ‘definitive guidance’. Kreocode is for educational purposes only.

Privacy Policy
The Kreocode website is available for use by Quebec teachers. Privacy is important to Kreocode and, as such, Kreocode is committed to respecting the confidentiality of personal information collected.
This Privacy Policy outlines how personal information is collected, used, disclosed, processed and stored in the course of Kreocode’s operations.
User Consent
By completing the entry form, the user consents and agrees that their information may be used and disclosed in accordance with this policy and the Kreocode Terms and Conditions.
Scope of the Policy
Kreocode is subject to the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, CQLR c A-2.1.
Kreocode’s content and training sometimes contain links to sites published by other content providers. These sites are not under our control; we are not responsible for the collection and use of personal information by these sites. Generally, we do not share information with these sites. It is recommended to read the privacy policy of each site visited.
Security
Kreocode establishes the purposes for which it collects personal information. This personal information is retained within the parameters of the intended purpose. Subsequently, this information will be made anonymous or destroyed in a secure manner.
Access to the servers is secured using appropriate procedures and controls used by the school service center that hosts Kreocode’s servers. Only authorized persons may access the servers. These individuals are committed to respecting the confidentiality of all personal information.
Modifications
Kreocode reserves the right to change any part of this Agreement without notice. Your use of the Kreocode website shall be considered as acceptance of this Agreement without notice or liability arising from such action. Users are advised to review these terms and conditions regularly.
Collection of Personal Information
- When a teacher submits a registration form or any project created for the event, the following personal information is collected:
- Last name
- First name
- Email address
- Organization/School
This information will be accessible to the Kreocode team and will be used for non-commercial administrative and organizational purposes for an indefinite period of time with no geographical limitations. We do not disclose any personal information to third parties.
Data Collection
Visitor data is generated and collected by Kreocode. This data is generated anonymously by the web server (IP address, operating system and browser used) and is used for statistical purposes regarding access and usage of Kreocode. Analysis of this data allows us, among other things, to improve the services and features of Kreocode.
Some information is collected by means of cookies. These cookies do not identify the user; they record information about the user’s browsing activities.
Requests for Data
Any registered user can request a copy of their personal data collected in Kreocode. It is also possible to request the deletion of this data.

Terms of Use
These terms of use govern and apply to your use of the Kreocode website, which is managed by members of RÉCIT from various school service centers or school boards in Quebec.
By accessing the site, you declare that you have read and understood the general conditions of use and that you are bound by these conditions. Please note that we may modify these conditions at any time and without prior notice.
Intellectual Property
By default and with some exceptions, the contents of the documents produced by the Kreocode team are made available to you under the Creative Commons – Attribution – Noncommercial – Share Alike 4.0 International license. You can reproduce, distribute and modify these contents in accordance with this license.
Using Kreocode
When using Kreocode, you agree to behave in a manner that is respectful of others. In particular you agree to refrain from any comments relating to membership or non-membership, real or assumed, of any ethnic group or race, religion, belief, age, disability, or sexual orientation, having the purpose or effect of violating the dignity of another or creating a hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment considered to be discriminatory.
The same applies to any comments with a sexual connotation having the same purpose or effect.
It is strictly prohibited to use Kreocode to promote commercial products or services.
Protection of Personal Information
Kreocode maintains the confidentiality of personal information collected in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Projects submitted in ScratchJr must be filmed to be eligible for the event. They must be saved in the teacher’s cloud space. Only a hyperlink to the video will be available on the Kreocode website. Teachers remain the owners of the video and are responsible for managing access to it.
Furthermore, in order to avoid legal procedures for obtaining image rights and identification of a person, videos or projects presenting an image of the participant will not be accepted.
Interruption of service
Kreocode is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The school service center hosting the Kreocode servers reserves the right to interrupt the service, in particular to ensure maintenance, without this interruption giving rise to any right to compensation.
Technologies Used
This site operates using the following free software (Linux, Apache, PHP, MySQL, WordPress).
No Guarantees
Despite the care taken to provide information using the latest techniques, errors, omissions, inaccuracies, cuts or additions beyond our control may occur or be inserted onto Kreocode. In addition, as with any publication, after a period of time, information or material contained in this site may become obsolete. The information provided is non- binding.
In any of these circumstances, the user of Kreocode and the information the site contains acknowledges that they use it under their sole responsibility. Kreocode shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage of any nature whatsoever resulting in whole, or in part from the use of the information on Kreocode.
Similarly, Kreocode cannot be held liable for the nature or content of the referenced sites.
